One of my favourite courses to visit, some stunning views and great holes! Tough though, suits the longer hittter. I'll be back...

Practice Area: A good putting practice area which reflected the greens. Separate chipping area and 2 practice nets

Clubhouse: Lovely clubhouse with stunning views over Poole Harbour & Bournemouth Seafront. Very smart inside and the changing rooms were clean & tidy.

Fairways: Well defined, cut short, no loose grass, consistent with no bare spots and bottles of sand/seed provided to fill in divots on some holes

Tees: Well maintained tees, a couple not flat but cut short and well marked. Sand/seed provided to repair divots.

Bunkers: I didn't visit any bunkers personally but from what I saw they all looked consistent with plenty of soft sand & sufficient rakes & no stones

Greens: Very slick greens, well maintained and true running. In great condition with few pitch marks and no bare spots or damage. Very receptive.

Facilities: Very good facilities overall, highly recommended. The drinks were fairly priced (didn't try any food) but the standard throughout was high.

Golf Course: Stunning views over Poole Harbour, a tough course to play (long) but very enjoyable nonetheless. Great clubhouse and facilities, recommended

About The Purbeck Course

The 18 hole Purbeck Course is available for the more experienced golfer with a handicap. The courses are built on heathland and are set within a nature reserve where many rare plants can be seen as well as rare birds. The restaurant has a well deserved reputation for excellent fare and very good value. We hope to make your next visit a day to remember.

About Isle of Purbeck Golf Club

A visit here is a must for all golfers; the beginner is catered for on the 9 hole Dene course and the Purbeck Championship course proves an exciting test for even the most accomplished golfer.The Club dates back to 1892, and among the past owners, who were responsible for the extension to 27 holes, were Enid Blyton, the legendary writer of childrens books, and her husband, Dr Darrell-Waters. The courses are built on heathland and are set within a nature reserve where many rare plants can be seen as well as rare birds.
