About The Course
A premier course in North Wales, Maesdu has 18 gently undulating holes that combine both parkland and links golf. It enjoys captivating panoramic views of the curving Conwy Bay - from The Great Orme Head to the dramatic mountains of the Snowdonia National Park.
The course is varied and interesting and can be enjoyed by players of all abilities. Good scoring can be achieved with sound course management combined with careful putting on the greens
The course was designed by Tom Jones and James Braid in 1915 and is one of the courses on the North Wales James Braid Trail. It became a top professional venue in the 1950's and 60's, regularly hosting the famous Penfold Swallow Tournament. This event attracted the top Professionals of the day, including the likes of Peter Alliss and Henry Cotton. It remains a regular venue for Welsh Championship events and hosted the British Ladies Senior Home Internationals in 2013 and The Open Youths Internationals in 2015.
